Boughrood Dead House & Church - ongoing
Conservation and restoration of a unique listed church outbuilding, built in the 1850's for housing and viewing bodies before burial. A rare building type often called a 'Bier House'. It was close to collapse, but has now been restored with the help of a Heritage Lottery grant.
Description on Boughrood website here.
The Dead House Restoration was completed in 2019. A further project is underway to provide additional facilities within the Church itself.
